Diagram Tool Keyboard Shortcuts

Just Play has developed the following keyboard shortcuts to help you diagram more quickly. Use the image and key below to learn about shortcuts to create and style lines.


SHIFT KEY: The Shift Key is used as the trigger for all shortcuts. Holding the Shift Key + a corresponding character will either activate a line tool or change the style of an existing line.

Line Tools

SHIFT + 1: To activate the straight line tool.

SHIFT + 2: To activate the right angle line tool.

SHIFT + 3: To activate the multi-point line tool.

SHIFT + 4: To activate the curve line tool.

Line Styles

SHIFT + A: To change the end style of a line to an arrow.

SHIFT + B: To change the end style of a line to a blocker.

SHIFT + G: To change the end style of a line to a gap fill.

SHIFT + L: To change the end style of a line to a left hook.

SHIFT + R: To change the end style of a line to a right hook.

SHIFT + N: To change the end style of a line to none.

SHIFT + - (dash): To change the style of a line to dashed.

SHIFT + . (period): To change the style of a line to dotted.

SHIFT + ~ (tilda): To change the style of a line to motion/squiggly.

Other Shortcuts

CTRL + Click on a segment of a multi-point line will highlight just the segment for you to style different from the rest of the line.

Hold ALT/OPTION key while drawing a line will cause the line to snap in 45 degree increments.

Hold SHIFT while drawing a multi-point line will turn the current line segment into a curve.
